The weather was cool and windy with scattered snow and rain showers early in the week. Later in the week temperatures reached the 50's during the day and dropped into the 20's at night.
The first morning Adam made an excellent shot on a nice 6 point bull at 131 yards in upper Indian Creek. Pete harvested a high tined 6x5 mule deer at 65 steps in Middle Creek. Later in the morning Krista connected on a wide, symmetrical 5 point mulie at 110 paces in Middle Creek. That evening Tom filled his elk tag with a wide, dark horned 6 point bull at 150 yards on Freemon. On the second morning Pete collected a beautiful, heavy beamed 6 point bull at 300 steps in Leo's Place. That evening Lance passed up two bulls at 50 paces on Freemon.
The third morning Lance missed a difficult shot at a 6 point bull in Indian Creek. That evening Tom filled his tags with a heavy, dark horned 6x5 whitetail in lower Rock Creek at 200 yards. On the fourth morning Lance made an excellent shot on a wide, long tined 6x5 bull at 191 steps in Leo's Place.
Richard and Shane Lutz of PA, Jerome Link of IA, Buck Steenwyk of CA, and Eric Hutton of MI were our guests for the third rifle hunt, November 6-11. This was Richard's 3rd hunt and Jerome and Buck's 4th hunt on the ranches.
This week brought mild, windy weather with daytime highs in the 50's and night time lows in the 30's. We had no snow cover or precipitation during this hunt.
On Sunday morning Buck made a long stalk and harvested a wide, thick framed 4 point mulie buck at 200 yards in Middle Creek. That evening Buck finished his hunt with a large, broken beamed 6 point bull at 60 steps in Middle Creek.
